So today I was reading Cracking the Communication Code by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and the chapter is about forgiveness. He says:
Suppose Sarah might be 100 percent guilty of wronging me. Her guilt cannot justify my unforgiving heart. I can remain unforgiving toward Sarah as long as I wish, but as long as I do so, I forfeit my enjoyment of God’s tender fellowship. (122)
Meditate on that for just a minute. For as long as you remain unforgiving, you forfeit God’s tender fellowship. Man… I know there’s someone I’m not forgiving, and you know there’s someone you’re not forgiving. It was really a smack in the face when I understood just how directly my unforgiving attitude is limiting my relationship with Christ. So what should we do about it?
